Introduction:
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation, also known as the Saudi Arabian Football
Association, has announced that the draw for the 2023-2024 edition of the prestigious King’s Cup will take place in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, next Wednesday.
The official Twitter account of the King’s Cup shared this information on Friday,
urging football enthusiasts to mark their calendars and be ready for one of the most highly
anticipated events in Saudi Arabian football.
The King’s Cup tournament follows a single-elimination format, with 32 teams participating in total.
The teams have been divided into two levels,
The first level
consisting of teams from the Saudi Professional League (the Rochan League)
and the top two teams from last season’s Yellow League (First Division).
The remaining teams in the top level include Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr,
Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, Al-Taawoun, Al-Fateh, Al-Ettifaq, Damac, Al-Tai,
Al-Raed, Al-Fayha, Abha, Al-Wehda, Al-Khaleej, Al-Ahli, and Al-Hazm.
The second level
includes teams from the Yellow League (First Division) and the relegated teams from
the Saudi Professional League.
Additionally, the champions of the Second Division will also compete in this level.
The teams in the second level include Al-Akhdoud, Al-Riyadh, Al-Adalah, Al-Batin, Al-Faisaly,
Al-Arabi, Al-Khaloud, Hajer, Ohod, Al-Jabalain, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Orobah,
Al-Qaisoma, Al-Ain, Jeddah, and Al-Najma.
